OK, that’s a bit of an over statement. This is my Brother and Sister in Law, plus my wife (Wife to be at the time) indulging in a bit of high-speed bobsleigh action at the ex-Olympic track in La Plagne, France. The driver is a Pro by the way.
I’m going to post a few more bits of action from our season in France, just as soon as I can work out why the downloads keep hanging for larger files.
I’m not sure that Joel will be winning himself too many friends in the Ruby On Rails community with his latest article, but I have to agree with most of what he says about the different programming stacks for Web Development.
The truth is that almost certainly none of the environments will be perfect for what you are doing, unless your web application is very straighforward. There is always functionality which is either very difficult or very dirty to do with any given framework. You just have to live with it and work around it. That’s one of the skills you develop as you get more experienced.

I was right … rapid response at “Loud Thinking” from DHH. Sadly he doesn’t have any well thought out answers to Joel’s article just argument by ridicule, and association with FUD. Maybe in a decade or three when he has a bit of experience behind him, David will understand Joel’s point of view.
